Living in Delano -the reality

Longtime lurker here, I relocated for work and Crime rate is something to consider -Delano sits at 386.8 per 100K. Median household income is $61,817, which feels about average for the area. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. What are your go-to spots? Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Came here for retirement and stayed because it exceeded my expectations. The job market is honestly average and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it was the best decision I ever made. Internet is better than expected in most areas.

Hot take but it's been a really good experience overall. I know a lot of people disagree but after 5 years here, that's my honest assessment.
