Cost of living reality check -Delray Beach

Not sure if this has been asked before, but Household incomes average around $79,393 in Delray Beach. It's a a smaller city city with about 66,940 people. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Is this normal for Delray Beach? The suburbs are where most families end up. The food scene here is surprisingly good. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The weather takes some getting used to. The city has invested a lot in new development. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a sales manager who relocated here from Raleigh about 5 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and work.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Strong job market in several industries
- Diverse dining options

Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Nightlife is limited

Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are established, gas is surprisingly good.

Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Feel free to reach out with questions..

I'm a social worker and I've found it's improved dramatically in recent years. The community is solid and there's always something going on.
