Planning a move to Delray Beach -neighborhoods?

Hey everyone, I'm a college student here and Rent is about $1,914/month for a decent place. Crime rate is something to consider -Delray Beach sits at 476.5 per 100K. Homes are going for about $386,700 on average. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Has anyone dealt with this? Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

Public transit is excellent here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I have mixed feelings honestly.

Weather-wise, the summers are challenging and winters are wild. You get used to it after the first year.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. it exceeded my expectations. Compared to Pittsburgh it's challenging.

I've been living here for 14 years and I'd say it's been a really good experience overall. The healthcare is average compared to other places I've lived. Overall Feel free to reach out with questions..

I've lived in Greenfield for about 11 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I love the pace of life here. When I first moved here from Seattle, I was surprised by cost of living. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Nice parks and green spaces
- The outdoor recreation scene is excellent

The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Not very walkable outside downtown

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for retirees. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's not perfect but it works for me. Good luck with whatever you decide..
