Moving to Deltona — what should I know?

I got a job offer in Deltona, FL and I'm seriously considering the move. I'm coming from a small city. A few questions:

1. Which neighborhoods should I look at for a $1200-1900 budget?

2. How's the commute situation?

3. Is the crime as bad as the stats suggest?

4. Any hidden costs I should know about?

The job market has been improving lately. Several manufacturing companies moved in recently.

Check out the Midtown area. Way more affordable and still close to everything.
