Working remotely from Deltona

Anyone else feel this way? I'm originally from Salt Lake City and With a population of 95,682, Deltona is a smaller city. Crime rate is something to consider -Deltona sits at 548.5 per 100K. Average temperature is around 73--F, so it's warm year-round. Median household income is $72,967, which feels about average for the area. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The weather takes some getting used to. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value outdoor recreation, you'll love it. The food scene is genuinely better than expected and I've found it's exactly what I was looking for. My neighborhood (Pine Hills) is competitive and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Salt Lake City, be prepared for the culture shock. healthcare is completely different here. And Limited public transit options.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it exceeded my expectations. Internet is better than expected in most areas.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want cultural scene, then yeah this place is great. But if school system matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.
