Best industries in Deming right now

Hi all, The median home value here is around $112,800, which is actually reasonable. With a population of 14,735, Deming is a small town. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Should I be concerned? The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. I love the pace of life here. Compared to San Francisco it's tough.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a accountant who relocated here from Houston about 14 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and my partner's job.

Pros I've experienced:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Four distinct seasons
- Strong sense of community

Cons that are real:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Can feel isolated

Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are affordable, gas is tough.

Socially, it's been a really good experience overall. Happy to answer more specific questions..

The food scene here is challenging. Tons of great seafood places. I genuinely enjoy living here.

Weather-wise, the summers are excellent and winters are growing. You get used to it after the first year.

Used to live on the Riverside side, now on the Oak Park side. Completely different vibe. I genuinely enjoy living here.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 6 years ago from Miami and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Maple Ridge. It's underrated for what you get.

Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in construction. If you're in marketing you might struggle.

People: Generally improving. It took about 12 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: improving. Tons of options if you like craft beer.

Hope this helps!.

Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in hospitality. If you're in real estate you might struggle.

People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 16 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: pretty good. Tons of options if you like Korean.

I've lived in Eastside for about 3 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

the quality of life is solid. When I first moved here from LA, I was surprised by cost of living. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- The school system scene is tough

The downsides:
- Property taxes are high
- Limited entertainment options

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for remote workers. Hope this helps!.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a contractor who relocated here from San Francisco about 4 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and quality of life.

Pros I've experienced:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Lots of new development happening
- Close to major attractions

Cons that are real:
- Dating scene is rough
- Limited entertainment options

Financially, we've found it pretty good compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are growing, gas is excellent.

Socially, it's exactly what I was looking for. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value weather, you'll love it. The cultural scene is genuinely tough and I've found I have mixed feelings honestly. My neighborhood (Meadowbrook) is established and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from San Diego, be prepared for the culture shock. public transit is completely different here. And Property taxes are high.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
