Anyone work in healthcare in Denham Springs?

Random thought, Been living here since 2006. Homes are going for about $188,700 on average. It's a a small town city with about 9,362 people. Poverty rate is 5.6%, which is pretty low. The median home value here is around $188,700, which is actually reasonable. With a population of 9,362, Denham Springs is a small town. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The city has invested a lot in new development. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The food scene here is hit or miss. Tons of great seafood places. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.

I've been living here for 3 years and I'd say it's been a really good experience overall. The food scene is surprisingly good compared to other places I've lived. Overall No regrets on my end..

I've lived in Eastside for about 4 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I genuinely enjoy living here. When I first moved here from Nashville, I was surprised by cost of living. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- The walkability scene is challenging

The downsides:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Limited entertainment options

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for singles. Happy to answer more specific questions..

Came here for my partner's job and stayed because it was the best decision I ever made. The job market is honestly surprisingly good and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Bought a house here in 2022 and I'm still on the fence after all this time. Property values have gone down slightly since then.

As someone who grew up here, it's improved dramatically in recent years. A lot has changed in the past few years though. community vibe used to be much established but now it's surprisingly good.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's exactly what I was looking for. Internet is challenging in most areas.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a accountant, 55, moved here 12 years ago from Tampa. I've lived in Westside and Highland, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Nice parks and green spaces
2. Strong job market in several industries
3. Lots of new development happening
4. The people are generally underrated - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Not very walkable outside downtown
2. Chain restaurants dominate
3. The pet-friendliness situation is developing and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Westside: Great for singles. challenging vibes, walkable.
- Highland: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Tampa, everything felt average. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are competitive. Gas is pricey. You can live comfortably on $60K-$80K here.

**Final verdict:**
No regrets on my end.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.
