Working in Depoe Bay -salaries realistic?

OK so I'm a remote worker and The unemployment rate is 6.2%, which is concerning. Rent is about $1,423/month for a decent place. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The city has invested a lot in new development. Thanks for reading. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a social worker who relocated here from Austin about 12 years ago. The main reasons were work and a fresh start.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Close to major attractions
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are reasonable, gas is surprisingly good.

Socially, it's improved dramatically in recent years. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem hit or miss.

I've been here 9 years and it's not perfect but it works for me. The thing nobody mentions is public transit. It's wild and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the safety is legit. And if you're into mountain biking, this place is better than expected.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Fairview side vs the The Heights side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Hope this helps!.
