I'm a nurse at the local hospital and Crime rate is something to consider -Derby sits at 192.5 per 100K. Average temperature is around 50--F, so expect cold winters. The unemployment rate is 4.4%, which is about average. You can expect to pay around $1,453 for rent here. The city has invested a lot in new development. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Has anyone dealt with this? There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Compared to Denver it's excellent.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. I have mixed feelings honestly. Compared to Raleigh it's excellent.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it exceeded my expectations. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

My experience has been mostly positive. the quality of life is solid. The only thing I'd watch out for is cost of living. Other than that, Hope this helps!.

Came here for my partner's job and stayed because it's not perfect but it works for me. The walkability is honestly underrated and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
