Alright, I'm retired and Median household income is $82,089, which feels pretty solid for the area. The weather takes some getting used to. What are your go-to spots? It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

My experience has been mostly positive. it's not perfect but it works for me. The only thing I'd watch out for is food scene. Other than that, Hope this helps!.

Came here for cost of living and stayed because I'm still on the fence after all this time. The outdoor recreation is honestly hit or miss and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem challenging.
I've been here 1 years and it was the best decision I ever made. The thing nobody mentions is cost of living. It's competitive and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the cost of living is legit. And if you're into fishing, this place is tough.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Sunset side vs the Westside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Happy to answer more specific questions..

I've lived in Sunset for about 13 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I have mixed feelings honestly. When I first moved here from Phoenix, I was surprised by cost of living. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Affordable housing options
- The traffic scene is surprisingly good
The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Limited entertainment options
Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for retirees. Good luck with whatever you decide..

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are average, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

I've been living here for 11 years and I'd say it's exactly what I was looking for. The job market is hit or miss compared to other places I've lived. Overall No regrets on my end..

Used to live on the Riverside side, now on the Highland side. Completely different vibe. it's improved dramatically in recent years.

I love the pace of life here. When I first moved here from Portland, I was surprised by weather. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Lots of new development happening
- The safety scene is underrated
The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Dating scene is rough
Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for remote workers. Hope this helps!.

Public transit is underrated here. You'll probably need a car for most things. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad.
