Crime rate is something to consider -Derry sits at 98.0 per 100K. The weather takes some getting used to. Thoughts? The food scene here is surprisingly good. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

Came here for family and stayed because it's not perfect but it works for me. The job market is honestly pretty good and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's exactly what I was looking for. Hope this helps!.

My experience has been mostly positive. I'm still on the fence after all this time. The only thing I'd watch out for is cost of living. Other than that, It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Hot take but it exceeded my expectations. I know a lot of people disagree but after 7 years here, that's my honest assessment.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is cost of living. I have mixed feelings honestly. Worth doing your research before committing.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 14 years ago from Pittsburgh and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in South. It's hit or miss for what you get.
Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in education. If you're in healthcare you might struggle.
People: Generally underrated. It took about 13 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: tough. Tons of options if you like BBQ.
Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are average, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

The food scene here is excellent. Tons of great craft beer places. I'm still on the fence after all this time.

I've lived in The Heights for about 8 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it was the best decision I ever made. When I first moved here from Dallas, I was surprised by traffic. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Strong job market in several industries
- The food scene scene is decent
The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Homeless population growing downtown
Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for remote workers. Hope this helps!.
