Hey folks, We're a young couple and Homes are going for about $183,700 on average. Household incomes average around $63,966 in Des Moines. Crime rate is something to consider — Des Moines sits at 712.1 per 100K. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Any advice would be great. Appreciate any input. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The weather takes some getting used to.
