Curious what people think. Military spouse here. The unemployment rate is 4.1%, which is about average. Poverty rate is 11.1%, which is around average. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Hot take but I have mixed feelings honestly. I know a lot of people disagree but after 8 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a project manager who relocated here from Phoenix about 10 years ago. The main reasons were family and a job opportunity.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Good airport with direct flights
- Strong sense of community
Cons that are real:
- Road conditions need improvement
- Limited entertainment options
Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are wild, gas is challenging.
Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. No regrets on my end..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
