Living in Des Peres -the reality
Hi all, We're a young couple and It's a a small town city with about 9,145 people. Poverty rate is 1.2%, which is pretty low. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Am I wrong here? The food scene here is surprisingly good. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The weather takes some getting used to. The weather takes some getting used to. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.
