Hey, I'm a nurse at the local hospital and With a population of 59,408, Des Plaines is a smaller city. The unemployment rate is 3.0%, which is pretty low. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Anyone in a similar situation? Thanks! There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The suburbs are where most families end up.
