Hey folks, I relocated for work and The median home value here is around $282,600, which seems about average. Rent is about $1,478/month for a decent place. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Am I wrong here? Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. I've lived in Westside for about 13 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from Salt Lake City, I was surprised by walkability. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Good internet infrastructure
- The dating scene scene is surprisingly good
The downsides:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Limited entertainment options
Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for families. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

- Nice parks and green spaces
- The safety scene is hit or miss
The downsides:
- Nightlife is limited
- Property taxes are high
Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for singles. No regrets on my end..
