Life in DeSoto as a young professional

Curious what people think. Born and raised here. The median home value here is around $282,600, which seems about average. Homes are going for about $282,600 on average. With a population of 55,896, DeSoto is a smaller city. It's a a smaller city city with about 55,896 people. The suburbs are where most families end up. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Worth the trade-offs? The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem underrated.

I've been here 11 years and it exceeded my expectations. The thing nobody mentions is public transit. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the cost of living is legit. And if you're into skiing, this place is average.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The East side vs the Springfield side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..
