Planning a move to Destin -neighborhoods?

Been meaning to ask this. I'm a 39-year-old police officer and You can expect to pay around $1,913 for rent here. Crime rate is something to consider -Destin sits at 151.7 per 100K. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Am I overthinking this?

My experience has been mostly positive. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The only thing I'd watch out for is weather. Other than that, Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
