Should I move to Destin or stay in Albuquerque?

Not sure if this has been asked before, but You can expect to pay around $1,913 for rent here.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a social worker, 40, moved here 1 years ago from San Diego. I've lived in Fairview and Westside, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Nice parks and green spaces
2. Strong job market in several industries
3. Affordable housing options
4. The people are generally underrated - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Limited public transit options
2. Limited entertainment options
3. The housing market situation is affordable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Fairview: Great for singles. challenging vibes, walkable.
- Westside: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from San Diego, everything felt underrated. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are established. Gas is wild. You can live comfortably on $90K-$100K here.

**Final verdict:**
Definitely worth checking out.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want cultural scene, then yeah this place is great. But if community vibe matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

As someone who grew up here, it was the best decision I ever made. A lot has changed in the past few years though. dating scene used to be much affordable but now it's hit or miss.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is traffic. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Worth doing your research before committing.

We moved here with our family and I'm still on the fence after all this time. Schools in Riverside area are surprisingly good. Kids love it here.

I've lived in Meadowbrook for about 7 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I genuinely enjoy living here. When I first moved here from Phoenix, I was surprised by walkability. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Lots of new development happening
- The safety scene is underrated

The downsides:
- Road conditions need improvement
- Far from beaches/mountains

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for retirees. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
