Affordable areas near Destrehan?

I'm originally from Minneapolis and Median household income is $100,189, which feels pretty solid for the area. Rent is about $1,154/month for a decent place. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. What neighborhoods would you suggest? Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

My experience has been mostly positive. it's exactly what I was looking for. The only thing I'd watch out for is dating scene. Other than that, Hope this helps!.
