What I wish I knew before living in Detroit
Random thought, I'm single, late 20s, and It's a a major city city with about 637K people. Household incomes average around $39,575 in Detroit. Crime rate is something to consider — Detroit sits at 1,965.3 per 100K. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Any advice would be great. The city has invested a lot in new development. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.
