Freelancing from Diamond Bar -experience?

Hey folks, Household incomes average around $106,602 in Diamond Bar. The unemployment rate is 3.1%, which is pretty low. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The city has invested a lot in new development. Does this match your experience? Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is cultural scene. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Worth doing your research before committing.

I've lived in Oak Park for about 8 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it was the best decision I ever made. When I first moved here from Raleigh, I was surprised by pet-friendliness. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- The traffic scene is pretty good

The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for remote workers. Happy to answer more specific questions..

Came here for cost of living and stayed because it's exactly what I was looking for. The food scene is honestly underrated and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 2 years ago from Nashville and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Downtown. It's average for what you get.

Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in retail. If you're in hospitality you might struggle.

People: Generally improving. It took about 8 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like Italian.

Definitely worth checking out..

The food scene here is surprisingly good. Tons of great seafood places. I'm still on the fence after all this time.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a accountant who relocated here from San Francisco about 8 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and retirement.

Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Strong job market in several industries
- Affordable housing options

Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Dating scene is rough

Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are competitive, gas is challenging.

Socially, it's exactly what I was looking for. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
