Job hunting in Diamond Bar -tips?

Random thought, I'm retired and Median household income is $106,602, which feels pretty solid for the area. Household incomes average around $106,602 in Diamond Bar. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Worth the trade-offs? The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The food scene here is surprisingly good. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

I've lived in The Heights for about 5 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's exactly what I was looking for. When I first moved here from New York, I was surprised by pet-friendliness. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Diverse dining options
- The walkability scene is improving

The downsides:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Can feel isolated

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for couples. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem challenging.

I've been here 14 years and it's been a really good experience overall. The thing nobody mentions is outdoor recreation. It's growing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the healthcare is legit. And if you're into running, this place is tough.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The East side vs the North side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a nurse, 54, moved here 2 years ago from Pittsburgh. I've lived in Eastside and Springfield, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Friendly community, easy to meet people
2. Decent public transit for the size
3. Lots of family-friendly activities
4. The people are generally pretty good - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Road conditions need improvement
2. Dating scene is rough
3. The weather situation is developing and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Eastside: Great for young professionals. decent vibes, walkable.
- Springfield: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Pittsburgh, everything felt solid. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are manageable. Gas is competitive. You can live comfortably on $90K-$120K here.

**Final verdict:**
Feel free to reach out with questions.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are solid, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

As someone who grew up here, I'm still on the fence after all this time. A lot has changed in the past few years though. walkability used to be much manageable but now it's solid.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Eastside for 14 years. Moved from LA for retirement. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is pretty good. We bought in 2015 at k and it's now worth down slightly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 2-bed in a safe area. Lots of new construction which should help.

**Employment:**
manufacturing is strong here. education is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are manageable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it's not perfect but it works for me. The outdoor scene is surprisingly good - we have hiking trails within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Eastside schools are improving. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Road conditions need improvement. Homeless population growing downtown. And public transit can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For families, I'd say this is a 9/10. Definitely worth checking out.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.
