Diamond Springs is underrated, change my mind

Anyone else feel this way? My family moved here when I was a kid. Household incomes average around $83,288 in Diamond Springs. Homes are going for about $409,000 on average. The median home value here is around $409,000, which is pretty steep. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Would love some local perspective. Any help is appreciated. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

Moved here from Tampa about 15 years ago. I have mixed feelings honestly. Still getting used to cost of living but No regrets on my end..

Used to live on the Oak Park side, now on the West side. Completely different vibe. I genuinely enjoy living here.

I've lived in West for about 6 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from Pittsburgh, I was surprised by healthcare. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good schools in most areas
- Decent public transit for the size
- The housing market scene is surprisingly good

The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Limited shopping options

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for families. Good luck with whatever you decide..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 6 years ago from San Francisco and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Pine Hills. It's pretty good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in healthcare. If you're in engineering you might struggle.

People: Generally challenging. It took about 11 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: pretty good. Tons of options if you like Korean.

Definitely worth checking out..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want public transit, then yeah this place is great. But if public transit matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.
