Job market in Diamond Springs for tech?

Curious what people think. We're a young couple and With a population of 12,642, Diamond Springs is a small town. The unemployment rate is 2.9%, which is pretty low. Poverty rate is 10.6%, which is around average. The city has invested a lot in new development. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. What would you do? The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The suburbs are where most families end up. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

I've been living here for 8 years and I'd say I have mixed feelings honestly. The walkability is underrated compared to other places I've lived. Overall It's not for everyone but it works for us..

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are hit or miss, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem decent.

I've been here 12 years and I have mixed feelings honestly. The thing nobody mentions is public transit. It's growing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the safety is legit. And if you're into photography, this place is pretty good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Highland side vs the Sunset side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Happy to answer more specific questions..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Westside for 15 years. Moved from New York for cost of living. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is average. We bought in 2023 at k and it's now worth down slightly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 3-bed in a safe area. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts.

**Employment:**
legal is strong here. construction is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are stable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
the quality of life is solid. The outdoor scene is underrated - we have beaches within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Westside schools are tough. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Summers can be brutally hot. Bugs and humidity in summer. And weather can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For couples, I'd say this is a 6/10. Give it a chance - it might surprise you.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Public transit is average here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it exceeded my expectations.

My experience has been mostly positive. it's exactly what I was looking for. The only thing I'd watch out for is weather. Other than that, Definitely worth checking out..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. No regrets on my end..
