Moving from Pittsburgh to Diamond Springs next month

So, I'm a 40-year-old social worker and Median household income is $83,288, which feels pretty solid for the area. The median home value here is around $409,000, which is pretty steep. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The weather takes some getting used to. The weather takes some getting used to. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The suburbs are where most families end up. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Property taxes are high but you get good services. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's been a really good experience overall. Hope this helps!.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value food scene, you'll love it. The housing market is genuinely better than expected and I've found I love the pace of life here. My neighborhood (Pine Hills) is wild and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Salt Lake City, be prepared for the culture shock. walkability is completely different here. And Traffic during rush hour is rough.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

I've been living here for 9 years and I'd say there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The housing market is decent compared to other places I've lived. Overall Definitely worth checking out..
