Anyone else feel this way? Born and raised here. Average temperature is around 68--F, so the weather is moderate. Household incomes average around $65,712 in D'Iberville. The unemployment rate is 3.0%, which is pretty low. You can expect to pay around $1,177 for rent here. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The weather takes some getting used to. What would you do? There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem better than expected.

I've been here 5 years and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The thing nobody mentions is safety. It's manageable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the public transit is legit. And if you're into kayaking, this place is improving.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Westside side vs the The Heights side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..

The market right now is challenging. We bought in 2021 at k and it's now worth up significantly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 2-bed in a safe area. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts.

**Employment:**
legal is strong here. marketing is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are manageable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I have mixed feelings honestly. The outdoor scene is challenging - we have mountains within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Meadowbrook schools are excellent. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Homeless population growing downtown. Limited entertainment options. And job market can be frustrating.

Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Diverse dining options

Cons that are real:
