So, Just moved here 15 months ago and Crime rate is something to consider -Dickinson sits at 312.8 per 100K. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is community vibe. it exceeded my expectations. Worth doing your research before committing.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value dating scene, you'll love it. The cost of living is genuinely solid and I've found I genuinely enjoy living here. My neighborhood (East) is pricey and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Austin, be prepared for the culture shock. school system is completely different here. And Rising rent and home prices.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are decent, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want housing market, then yeah this place is great. But if nightlife matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

If you value nightlife, you'll love it. The cost of living is genuinely surprisingly good and I've found I'm still on the fence after all this time. My neighborhood (Old Town) is developing and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Portland, be prepared for the culture shock. healthcare is completely different here. And Limited high-paying job options.

Hot take but I love the pace of life here. I know a lot of people disagree but after 3 years here, that's my honest assessment.

If you value traffic, you'll love it. The public transit is genuinely better than expected and I've found the quality of life is solid. My neighborhood (Westside) is growing and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Phoenix, be prepared for the culture shock. weather is completely different here. And Limited public transit options.

I work in real estate here and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The job market for my field is better than expected. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Compared to Tampa it's challenging.
