Let me know your thoughts. Appreciate any input. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

Weather-wise, the summers are improving and winters are stable. You get used to it after the first year.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want nightlife, then yeah this place is great. But if nightlife matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a accountant who relocated here from Tampa about 14 years ago. The main reasons were school and work.
Pros I've experienced:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Affordable housing options
- Strong sense of community
Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Bugs and humidity in summer
Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are affordable, gas is challenging.
Socially, it's improved dramatically in recent years. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem tough.
I've been here 14 years and I have mixed feelings honestly. The thing nobody mentions is school system. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the outdoor recreation is legit. And if you're into hiking, this place is tough.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Maple Ridge side vs the Midtown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a contractor who relocated here from Dallas about 12 years ago. The main reasons were weather and my partner's job.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Four distinct seasons
- Good airport with direct flights
Cons that are real:
- Nightlife is limited
- Property taxes are high
Financially, we've found it hit or miss compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are developing, gas is improving.
Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

I've been living here for 5 years and I'd say I love the pace of life here. The public transit is excellent compared to other places I've lived. Overall Feel free to reach out with questions..
