First post here. Average temperature is around 54--F, so expect cold winters. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. What are your go-to spots? The city has invested a lot in new development.

I'm a real estate agent and I've found there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The community is pretty good and there's always something going on.

We moved here with our family and it's not perfect but it works for me. Schools in North area are pretty good. Kids love it here.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem average.
I've been here 2 years and it was the best decision I ever made. The thing nobody mentions is nightlife. It's affordable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the walkability is legit. And if you're into fishing, this place is better than expected.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Uptown side vs the The Heights side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Good luck with whatever you decide..

Public transit is better than expected here. You'll probably need a car for most things. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Feel free to reach out with questions..

I've been living here for 9 years and I'd say I have mixed feelings honestly. The weather is excellent compared to other places I've lived. Overall Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a lawyer who relocated here from Houston about 6 years ago. The main reasons were family and work.
Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Good internet infrastructure
- Affordable housing options
Cons that are real:
- Property taxes are high
- Can feel isolated
Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are stable, gas is pretty good.
Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. Definitely worth checking out..
