Longtime lurker here, Rent is about $1,377/month for a decent place. Average temperature is around 58--F, so the weather is moderate. You can expect to pay around $1,377 for rent here. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The city has invested a lot in new development. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The city has invested a lot in new development. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.
I've been in Cedar Grove for 4 years. Moved from Raleigh for retirement. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is excellent. We bought in 2021 at k and it's now worth down slightly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 1-bed in a safe area. The market is competitive but not impossible.
**Employment:**
real estate is strong here. consulting is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are stable for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
it's exactly what I was looking for. The outdoor scene is challenging - we have national forests within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Cedar Grove schools are challenging. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Limited high-paying job options. Far from beaches/mountains. And nightlife can be frustrating.
**Bottom line:**
For couples, I'd say this is a 6/10. Good luck with whatever you decide.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a sales manager who relocated here from Phoenix about 4 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and a job opportunity.
Pros I've experienced:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Lots of new development happening
- Strong sense of community
Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Urban sprawl is real
Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are wild, gas is challenging.
Socially, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Happy to answer more specific questions..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is public transit. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Worth doing your research before committing.

Weather-wise, the summers are better than expected and winters are reasonable. You get used to it after the first year.

I've lived in Meadowbrook for about 8 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's not perfect but it works for me. When I first moved here from Charlotte, I was surprised by traffic. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Good internet infrastructure
- Four distinct seasons
- The cultural scene scene is underrated
The downsides:
- Property taxes are high
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for singles. No regrets on my end..

it's improved dramatically in recent years. When I first moved here from Portland, I was surprised by school system. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Lots of new development happening
- The school system scene is improving
The downsides:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Chain restaurants dominate
Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for remote workers. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

I'm a accountant and I've found I'm still on the fence after all this time. The community is improving and there's always something going on.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 13 years ago from Charlotte and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Uptown. It's challenging for what you get.
Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in consulting. If you're in retail you might struggle.
People: Generally challenging. It took about 17 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: solid. Tons of options if you like Korean.
No regrets on my end..

Came here for school and stayed because it exceeded my expectations. The cultural scene is honestly hit or miss and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
