Hey everyone, Been living here since 2008. You can expect to pay around $865 for rent here. Average temperature is around 48--F, so expect cold winters. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The weather takes some getting used to. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The city has invested a lot in new development. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 5 years ago from Charlotte and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Maple Ridge. It's pretty good for what you get.
Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in retail. If you're in education you might struggle.
People: Generally challenging. It took about 5 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: pretty good. Tons of options if you like sushi.
Feel free to reach out with questions..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want food scene, then yeah this place is great. But if job market matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Weather-wise, the summers are tough and winters are manageable. You get used to it after the first year.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem improving.
I've been here 14 years and I have mixed feelings honestly. The thing nobody mentions is cultural scene. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the housing market is legit. And if you're into golfing, this place is challenging.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Riverside side vs the Greenfield side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Hope this helps!.
