What Dixon does better than anywhere else

Not sure if this has been asked before, but Been living here since 2009. Poverty rate is 12.5%, which is around average. The weather takes some getting used to. Any help is appreciated.

Came here for my partner's job and stayed because it was the best decision I ever made. The safety is honestly excellent and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in The Heights for 10 years. Moved from Salt Lake City for a job opportunity. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is hit or miss. We bought in 2017 at k and it's now worth up significantly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals.

**Employment:**
finance is strong here. manufacturing is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are competitive for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I genuinely enjoy living here. The outdoor scene is excellent - we have national forests within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. The Heights schools are surprisingly good. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Rising rent and home prices. Urban sprawl is real. And cultural scene can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For remote workers, I'd say this is a 7/10. Happy to answer more specific questions.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Public transit is hit or miss here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's been a really good experience overall.

Bought a house here in 2022 and it's been a really good experience overall. Property values have gone down slightly since then.

I've been living here for 7 years and I'd say the quality of life is solid. The traffic is challenging compared to other places I've lived. Overall Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem better than expected.

I've been here 9 years and I love the pace of life here. The thing nobody mentions is community vibe. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the nightlife is legit. And if you're into biking, this place is average.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Pine Hills side vs the Fairview side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Hope this helps!.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a electrician who relocated here from Tampa about 6 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and a fresh start.

Pros I've experienced:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Good healthcare facilities
- Affordable housing options

Cons that are real:
- Property taxes are high
- Road conditions need improvement

Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are growing, gas is average.

Socially, it's exactly what I was looking for. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want weather, then yeah this place is great. But if traffic matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 4 years ago from Houston and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Pine Hills. It's challenging for what you get.

Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in manufacturing. If you're in construction you might struggle.

People: Generally underrated. It took about 3 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: average. Tons of options if you like Vietnamese.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..
