What surprised you most about Dock Junction?

Longtime lurker here, We're a young couple and Homes are going for about $140,300 on average. Average temperature is around 69--F, so the weather is moderate. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is community vibe. it was the best decision I ever made. Worth doing your research before committing.

I've lived in West for about 13 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from Houston, I was surprised by food scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Strong job market in several industries
- Active local events and festivals
- The cultural scene scene is solid

The downsides:
- Property taxes are high
- Can feel isolated

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for families. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Public transit is challenging here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it was the best decision I ever made.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's not perfect but it works for me. Internet is surprisingly good in most areas.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value traffic, you'll love it. The pet-friendliness is genuinely underrated and I've found I love the pace of life here. My neighborhood (The Heights) is competitive and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Miami, be prepared for the culture shock. public transit is completely different here. And Traffic during rush hour is rough.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
