What Doctor Phillips does better than anywhere else
Hey everyone, I'm a remote worker and Household incomes average around $101,540 in Doctor Phillips. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Am I overthinking this? It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

Public transit is average here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it was the best decision I ever made.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem solid.
I've been here 11 years and it was the best decision I ever made. The thing nobody mentions is job market. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the cultural scene is legit. And if you're into surfing, this place is excellent.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Oak Park side vs the Meadowbrook side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
No regrets on my end..

I've lived in Downtown for about 1 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I have mixed feelings honestly. When I first moved here from Atlanta, I was surprised by food scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Good internet infrastructure
- The community vibe scene is average
The downsides:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Far from beaches/mountains
Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for couples. Good luck with whatever you decide..
