First post here. I've been here for 1 years and Poverty rate is 15.0%, which is around average. Median household income is $67,958, which feels about average for the area. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The weather takes some getting used to. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a accountant who relocated here from Seattle about 9 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and weather.
Pros I've experienced:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Lots of new development happening
- Lots of family-friendly activities
Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Chain restaurants dominate
Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are affordable, gas is tough.
Socially, it's improved dramatically in recent years. Feel free to reach out with questions..

I've lived in Pine Hills for about 10 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. When I first moved here from San Diego, I was surprised by outdoor recreation. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Active local events and festivals
- Four distinct seasons
- The job market scene is average
The downsides:
- Limited shopping options
- Dating scene is rough
Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for families. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
