Raising a family in Dodge City -thoughts?

Hey everyone, I work in manufacturing and Rent is about $982/month for a decent place. The weather takes some getting used to. Is this normal for Dodge City? Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

Hot take but there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. I know a lot of people disagree but after 10 years here, that's my honest assessment.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 10 years ago from Minneapolis and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Old Town. It's improving for what you get.

Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in legal. If you're in construction you might struggle.

People: Generally underrated. It took about 12 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: improving. Tons of options if you like seafood.

Happy to answer more specific questions..
