So, My family moved here when I was a kid. It's a a small town city with about 5,126 people. Crime rate is something to consider -Doffing sits at 727.7 per 100K. You can expect to pay around $793 for rent here. Rent is about $793/month for a decent place. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Am I wrong here? The food scene here is surprisingly good. The suburbs are where most families end up. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The suburbs are where most families end up. The city has invested a lot in new development.

I've lived in Fairview for about 12 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it was the best decision I ever made. When I first moved here from Austin, I was surprised by community vibe. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Good schools in most areas
- The community vibe scene is better than expected
The downsides:
- Can feel isolated
- Dating scene is rough
Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for retirees. Definitely worth checking out..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value cost of living, you'll love it. The dating scene is genuinely tough and I've found it's exactly what I was looking for. My neighborhood (Highland) is pricey and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from LA, be prepared for the culture shock. school system is completely different here. And Limited high-paying job options.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
