Hello, We're a young couple and Average temperature is around 53--F, so expect cold winters. The city has invested a lot in new development. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a software engineer who relocated here from Raleigh about 5 years ago. The main reasons were family and quality of life.
Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Strong sense of community
Cons that are real:
- Dating scene is rough
- Far from beaches/mountains
Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are wild, gas is improving.
Socially, it's improved dramatically in recent years. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

I've been living here for 15 years and I'd say it's not perfect but it works for me. The school system is pretty good compared to other places I've lived. Overall Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want pet-friendliness, then yeah this place is great. But if nightlife matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

I've lived in Pine Hills for about 14 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I have mixed feelings honestly. When I first moved here from Chicago, I was surprised by healthcare. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Good schools in most areas
- The safety scene is excellent
The downsides:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Limited entertainment options
Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for retirees. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
