Housing in Doolittle compared to Charlotte
Been meaning to ask this. I'm originally from Pittsburgh and With a population of 6,162, Doolittle is a small town. Rent is about $1,016/month for a decent place. The unemployment rate is 10.3%, which is concerning. The weather takes some getting used to. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.
Pros:
- Good job market
- Friendly people
- Good schools
- Diverse community
Cons:
- Rising rent prices
- Few job opportunities in some fields
- Far from major airports
- Limited cultural events
What are your go-to spots? Appreciate any input. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The suburbs are where most families end up. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The food scene here is surprisingly good.
