Curious what people think. I'm a remote worker and Homes are going for about $514,600 on average. Median household income is $88,474, which feels pretty solid for the area. Poverty rate is 9.6%, which is pretty low. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

Pros:
- Great weather
- Friendly people
- Low crime in most areas
- Strong sense of community
- Good airport connections

Cons:
- Cold winters
- Rising rent prices
- Limited dining options
- High property taxes
The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The weather takes some getting used to. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The suburbs are where most families end up. Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I genuinely enjoy living here. Hope this helps!.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 1 years ago from Portland and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Lakewood. It's hit or miss for what you get.

Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in hospitality. If you're in manufacturing you might struggle.

People: Generally better than expected. It took about 7 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: improving. Tons of options if you like Asian.

Happy to answer more specific questions..
