Biggest downsides of living in Double Oak?

Longtime lurker here, I'm a remote worker and The unemployment rate is 1.2%, which is pretty low. You can expect to pay around $1,375 for rent here. Homes are going for about $652,200 on average. The median home value here is around $652,200, which is pretty steep. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. What would you do? Night life is decent if you know the right spots. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 13 years ago from Austin and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Eastside. It's pretty good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in retail. If you're in engineering you might struggle.

People: Generally surprisingly good. It took about 14 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: better than expected. Tons of options if you like BBQ.

Happy to answer more specific questions..

Came here for cost of living and stayed because it's not perfect but it works for me. The safety is honestly excellent and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
