Is Douglas getting better or worse?

Not sure if this has been asked before, but I'm a remote worker and Median household income is $37,979, which feels on the lower side for the area. Homes are going for about $136,100 on average. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The suburbs are where most families end up. Any advice would be great. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The weather takes some getting used to. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The food scene here is surprisingly good.
