OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 8 years ago from Pittsburgh and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Highland. It's average for what you get.

Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in finance. If you're in government you might struggle.

People: Generally underrated. It took about 10 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: solid. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.

I'm a HR manager who relocated here from Pittsburgh about 4 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and weather.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Diverse dining options

Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Far from beaches/mountains

Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are developing, gas is hit or miss.

**Quality of Life:**
