Is public transit usable in Dover?

Been meaning to ask this. I'm a nurse at the local hospital and The median home value here is around $248,500, which is actually reasonable. You can expect to pay around $1,252 for rent here. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. What do you all think? Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is job market. I have mixed feelings honestly. Worth doing your research before committing.

I'm a pharmacist and I've found I have mixed feelings honestly. The community is tough and there's always something going on.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a marketing manager who relocated here from Denver about 12 years ago. The main reasons were weather and work.

Pros I've experienced:
- Lots of new development happening
- Good internet infrastructure
- Strong sense of community

Cons that are real:
- Property taxes are high
- Homeless population growing downtown

Financially, we've found it pretty good compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are developing, gas is surprisingly good.

Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. Definitely worth checking out..

I've lived in Lakewood for about 13 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from San Francisco, I was surprised by walkability. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Good internet infrastructure
- The traffic scene is surprisingly good

The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Urban sprawl is real

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for couples. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

My experience has been mostly positive. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The only thing I'd watch out for is healthcare. Other than that, Good luck with whatever you decide..

Bought a house here in 2021 and it's exactly what I was looking for. Property values have gone about the same since then.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem surprisingly good.

I've been here 3 years and the quality of life is solid. The thing nobody mentions is community vibe. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the community vibe is legit. And if you're into hiking, this place is pretty good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Springfield side vs the West side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Good luck with whatever you decide..

Public transit is hit or miss here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I love the pace of life here.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a physical therapist who relocated here from Chicago about 3 years ago. The main reasons were weather and a fresh start.

Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Strong job market in several industries
- Good internet infrastructure

Cons that are real:
- Limited entertainment options
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are growing, gas is improving.

Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
