Curious what people think. The unemployment rate is 3.0%, which is pretty low. Crime rate is something to consider -Dover sits at 78.3 per 100K. Median household income is $92,748, which feels pretty solid for the area. The median home value here is around $398,500, which seems about average. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Thoughts? It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

Moved here from Charlotte about 3 years ago. I genuinely enjoy living here. Still getting used to nightlife but Definitely worth checking out..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.
I've been in Old Town for 4 years. Moved from Austin for quality of life. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is decent. We bought in 2020 at k and it's now worth about the same than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 3-bed in a safe area. The market is competitive but not impossible.
**Employment:**
real estate is strong here. real estate is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are manageable for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
it exceeded my expectations. The outdoor scene is solid - we have beaches within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Old Town schools are pretty good. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Not very walkable outside downtown. Property taxes are high. And nightlife can be frustrating.
**Bottom line:**
For young professionals, I'd say this is a 5/10. Give it a chance - it might surprise you.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

I'm a marketing manager and I've found it's not perfect but it works for me. The community is average and there's always something going on.

Weather-wise, the summers are tough and winters are developing. You get used to it after the first year.
