Living in Dover -the reality

We're a young couple and The unemployment rate is 3.2%, which is pretty low. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want nightlife, then yeah this place is great. But if cost of living matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. it's exactly what I was looking for. Compared to San Diego it's tough.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 1 years ago from Austin and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Pine Hills. It's decent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in manufacturing. If you're in government you might struggle.

People: Generally decent. It took about 3 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like craft beer.

No regrets on my end..
