Not sure if this has been asked before, but Average temperature is around 63--F, so the weather is moderate. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

My experience has been mostly positive. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The only thing I'd watch out for is housing market. Other than that, Definitely worth checking out..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I love the pace of life here. Internet is decent in most areas.

I'm a pharmacist and I've found it's not perfect but it works for me. The community is surprisingly good and there's always something going on.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a contractor, 24, moved here 15 years ago from Chicago. I've lived in North and Maple Ridge, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Good healthcare facilities
2. Close to major attractions
3. Strong sense of community
4. The people are generally improving - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Limited public transit options
2. Property taxes are high
3. The public transit situation is developing and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- North: Great for couples. underrated vibes, walkable.
- Maple Ridge: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Chicago, everything felt better than expected. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are pricey. Gas is established. You can live comfortably on $70K-$140K here.
**Final verdict:**
Definitely worth checking out.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

I work in healthcare here and it's improved dramatically in recent years. The job market for my field is better than expected. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
