Random thought, I'm a nurse at the local hospital and The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

Came here for family and stayed because it's improved dramatically in recent years. The housing market is honestly average and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

We moved here with our family and it's been a really good experience overall. Schools in Uptown area are decent. Kids love it here.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is safety. I genuinely enjoy living here. Worth doing your research before committing.

Moved here from Pittsburgh about 14 years ago. I have mixed feelings honestly. Still getting used to traffic but Happy to answer more specific questions..

Hot take but I love the pace of life here. I know a lot of people disagree but after 9 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. I have mixed feelings honestly. Compared to Dallas it's improving.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I love the pace of life here. Internet is challenging in most areas.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a pharmacist, 53, moved here 7 years ago from Austin. I've lived in Greenfield and Cedar Grove, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Good schools in most areas
2. Nice parks and green spaces
3. Close to major attractions
4. The people are generally surprisingly good - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Property taxes are high
2. Dating scene is rough
3. The safety situation is growing and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Greenfield: Great for families. challenging vibes, walkable.
- Cedar Grove: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Austin, everything felt average. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are manageable. Gas is reasonable. You can live comfortably on $60K-$120K here.
**Final verdict:**
Hope this helps!. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.
