Is Downey good for remote workers?

Alright, I grew up here but left for a while. The median home value here is around $728,500, which is pretty steep. Median household income is $87,400, which feels pretty solid for the area. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Does this match your experience?

The food scene here is average. Tons of great Italian places. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 15 years ago from LA and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Springfield. It's challenging for what you get.

Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in healthcare. If you're in construction you might struggle.

People: Generally pretty good. It took about 14 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like Southern.

No regrets on my end..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. I have mixed feelings honestly. Compared to LA it's improving.
